The Aquarium

Come with us below the surface of the ocean

Discover a world teeming with life

At the aquarium, you'll get up close to some of the fish and marine animals that live in Danish waters.

Here you can see everything from rays, turbot, and conger eels to beautiful sea anemones, strange jellyfish, and fish of all shapes and sizes. In the touch tank, you can feel marine life with your own hands and get up close to flatfish and lesser spotted dogfish, among other creatures.

The aquarium offers you a glimpse into a world that is otherwise hidden beneath the surface.

From shallow water to the open sea

As you move through the aquarium, you’re also descending through the ocean.

The floor slopes downward, and as you proceed, you’ll follow the marine life from the shallow waters along the coast to the deeper areas and out toward the open sea. Here, the light, the animals, and the atmosphere all change the further down you go.

Finally, the path leads upward again—as if you were making your way back to the surface after a trip to the ocean floor.

Find the fish!

The aquarium is home to more than 100 species from Danish waters.

Go exploring and see just how diverse and fascinating the fish and other sea creatures are.

Can you spot the turbot hiding on the seabed? Can you find the catshark? How many herring do you think are swimming in the shoal? And which fish is the biggest, the smallest, the prettiest, or the strangest?

Some animals are easy to spot. Others require a good look to find. It’s all about being patient, curious, and keeping your eyes peeled!
