Enjoy a unique experience

with a children's birthday party

Celebrate Your Birthday at the Fisheries and Maritime Museum

With us, you can make your birthday celebration extra special! Bring your friends and family to your birthday party at the Fisheries and Maritime Museum, and let the museum provide a festive setting for what’s sure to be the city’s most fun kids’ birthday party.

When you celebrate your birthday at the museum, you can watch the seals jump, splash, snort, and eat lots of fish! You and your guests will also get an up-close look when a museum educator feeds the eiders and tells you all about them in the Wadden Sea Pavilion.

During the birthday party, it’s also time to burn off some energy! You can choose between two fun activities that the facilitator will help you play. You can choose between:“Hunt Like a Seal” or“Giant Memory Game

Hunt like a seal

You can try hunting like a real seal as you take on the seal relay, wearing special seal goggles that make you feel like you're swimming upside down, just like seals do when they hunt.

But be careful! There are obstacles made of fishing nets standing between you and your meal. As a skilled seal, you’ll have to find a way over, under, or around the fishermen’s nets if you want something to eat.

This activity is not recommended for children under 10 years of age, as it may cause disorientation.

Giant Memory Game

You can also try our giant memory game featuring objects and animals from the museum. Get ready for a fast-paced game as teams compete to find the most matching tiles as quickly as possible.

So dust off your running shoes and keep your mind sharp as the memory game pieces are flipped over one after another.

This activity is recommended for children under 10, as the "Hunt Like a Seal" activity can be disorienting.

Are other parents allowed to enter the museum to pick up or drop off their children?

No.

Only adults who have paid the admission fee are permitted to enter the museum. This means that parents are not allowed to accompany their children all the way into the rented room, either upon arrival or departure.

Arrived as a whole group
We would like to encourage you to arrive with your children as a group. We suggest that you meet the children at the foot of the front steps and enter the museum as a group.

When the children need to be picked up again
When the festivities are over and the children need to be picked up, we use what we call the " Stoppestedet ". It is a sign we place on the front steps. Here, parents are asked to wait until their children are sent out to them.

What if we have more than one birthday boy or girl?

We can definitely handle that! The concept stays the same, but we'll be giving a gift to each of the birthday celebrants.

Each additional birthday child costs 100 kr.

How does billing work?

Payment is made at the Information Desk upon arrival.
At the Information Desk, you can pay with cash or a debit or credit card.
